Salads have a HUGE variety of recipes irl, and would be seen as a more healthy option to have in the games compared to goyslop as the game is marketed towards kids, so salad in next gen is a viable option imo.

I'd say it depends on what real world country the next region mimics, but I don't think there's anything Spanish about sandwiches so who knows. Still, it does need to be something that you can put anything in as a topping or accoutrement, so most likely not a sweet food or dessert (but that too, could be possible of they go back to using berries as ingredients)

You must be aware of Japanese curry? It's based on a style of curry eaten by English soldiers which dates back to the time of the British Empire in India, which is why it's so mild and uses extremely basic vegetables and beef. It's also a quintessential campfire dish in Japan so to them it would have been the obvious choice to go with the camp function
