Alienation drives people away, they can't relate to their content, or cease to find what they do entertaining. As well as audience burnout (people get tired off them) and content oversaturation (plenty of other shit to watch).

American dream maybe. I suffered enough of the nightmares, I'll just be happy if I get a relatively easy job with basic healthcare, a paygrade that, while not crazy good, is manageable and allows me a treat or two if I save up enough, be able to cover rent and meals without thinking "but what if it isn't enough" everytime I go to bed, and sleep knowing I have a place in this world and society, maybe not as the hero I dreamed to be, but as the NPC wagie who gives you an useful item when you knock at his door.

99% of streamers I've come across have no fucking close how to handle money and lack any sort of financial responsibility. Remember that guy that blew 500k gambling, begged his viewers for money and then blew off that one gambling ONCE AGAIN?
Now consider that most streamers that see any sort of success have a massive ego, perhaps even latent or active narcissism.

Not a lot. IIRC what I read it's something like 90% of twitch streamer have less than 1 viewer. If you go full time entertainment streamer you have very little chance of success. But my brother in law is also a streamer/youtuber but for people trying to enter a specific formation and because he is one of the few to do it he made enough money to live comfortably.

It's not so much they have little chance of success, it's just the overwhelming majority of people

A. Have no idea how to market themselves/grow an audience (twitch has 0 discoverability)
B. Have no clue how to keep an audience engaged

it's a skill issue rather than a luck issue
