Time travel is not possible on a tangible level. You cannot go back in time, but you can send something back in time relative to you. Travel 1 lightyear away from Earth and suddenly the Earth is now 1 year in the past relative to you, but try and go back to Earth and suddenly you're synced up again, because you just traded space for time and time for space. This is what Einstein meant when he referred to time and space as the "same thing"
All the time weirdness on a quantum scale is the same thing, just on a much smaller scale. The reason this all happens is because, as Einstein realized, time itself has a finite speed, the maximum speed of change aka the speed of light.
