>>52520399The games did not fail considering how much money they made, but they 100% were piss easy (even by Pokemon standards) linear games without enough content. The DLCs were a step up and definitely significantly improved experiences but the base game was realistically 10 hours long if you don't go out of your way to stop and take your time.
SV tried to take the best of SwSh and expand on it but it's really fucking obvious it needed another 6+ months in the oven. The skeleton of the game is significantly more robust than SwSh at launch but the technical issues are fucking unacceptable from a major developer, indie games don't even shit the bed this bad on basic technical standards. Just goes to show how pervasive it has become in the games industry to ship a barely stable unfinished product and dangle fixes to the game in front of the audience walled behind whether or not DLC sells well enough.
