you don't see the crystal until you start the raid, so it the waiting screen you only see the the psychic symbol
I haven't heard of anyone having this problem so most likely reason that happens to you is that you're retarded

But I played the game first and didn't start doing online tera raids until after Area Zero. I did some low-level caves by myself to catch Pokemon, but I mostly ignored the raids until I did everything story-related and can now focus on item farming and shiny hunting. By that point, I remember the crowns more than I do the symbols, so I see an eyeball and I remember it's the psychic crown.

I've done it but now you should just not care about tera type, you want to resist it's moves. You don't need SE moves to beat raids, just don't die and use buffs/debuffs

The Dark symbol is of an aggressive, evil eye. Does not match with the clairvoyant open Psychic Tera hat eye.
Dark is instead a malicious grinning face with a star popping out of its open grin.
Dark’s colors are black and red.

why did they change the symbols from the sword and shield ones?
especially fucked because the fairy symbol used to be a kind of star shape as well, really trying to fuck with people

Game Freak presumably changed the symbols from BDSP onward to make them more distinct.

Fighting is a good change aesthetically
Normal is ok I guess, the ears are cute and clearly communicate the 'type of monster' idea
Fairy isn't great but at least it's better than the old one, I have difficulties figuring out how the star in the old one represents the type at all
Ground looking more obviously distinct from Rock is an improvement but the icon itself could still be better
Poison becoming some inanimate sludge puddle instead of an obvious skull shape is weird and pointless
Dark's old eclipse icon is cooler but the new stink eye is arguably a better representation of the type
Psychic, Steel and Grass... just why?
The rest are either barely any different and/or just minor changes for the sake of changes.

I think the updated Fairy, Normal, Ghost, Ground and Fighting icons look better aesthetically. Ground in particular is now easier to tell apart from Rock. Otherwise I prefer the old icons, maybe just make those a little bigger so they fit with the rest.

Historically (TCG) the eye has been the Psychic logo. Faggot. It's natural to see the new (and shit) Dark logo and assume you're gonna be matched against a Psychic 'mon.
