The “poor kid” dribble doesn’t work because the Pokémon are totally optional. You can complete the entire game and all of has to offer without them. They literally are inconsequential. That’s what Mythicals have always been. Rewards for dedicated players. If little Timmy can’t afford the games now he can later, and even if he doesn’t he can ask someone to trade it to him like the pathetic little faggot you are.

Arceus was an event pokemon that was accessible via an item that was given out. It was only given out in japan, so for D/P/P there was no way for non Japanese players to get Arceus without hacks/cheats. And in the remakes, you cannot get him again, unless you pay $60 to play an entire other game, just to unlock him in another game... that is so stupid.

There’s no way you can spin this into a problem. You aren’t missing out on anything, it’s not keeping you from completing the game, and it doesn’t give you any added bonuses. You can’t even use the Pokémon in online competitive. It’s strictly a reward with some lore and nothing more. The real scummy thing GameFreak did was locking Mew behind the peripheral, glad they don’t do that anymore.!

The arceus event, the one coded in every copy, that when you received from said event the azure flute, you could go back to the top of the mountain and fight arceus.
We aren't talking about going to a location to get a lazy handout in a cherish ball. The azure flute event was NEVER given out outside of japan. And for many players, they weren't able to get the location based event either, what is so hard to understand here?

What they SHOULD do is let you access Darkrai or Shaymin before the postgame if you have BDSP/SwSh, maybe having them accessible once you unlock the coronet highlands via a child getting nightmares or a quest involving a gracidea bouquet someone wants. If you don't have BDSP or SwSh, you still get them, but strictly as part of the postgame so its really just for completion. This way everyone gets it, but the experience is vastly different. Think the difference between sky pillar in RS and emerald (or any similar area in a third version).

I much much prefer this shit to them being locked to an event that only happens on one weekend only in the major cities of 3 countries in a retail store where 90% of the employees have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about and when you finally find the one employee that half knows what is even going on they demand you buy the fucking game you already own. Even with wifi events being a thing they only last a short amount of time before they fuck off forever, at least this way if I wanna replay the games I can still access the events. Yes I would prefer if they were in the game from the start but we all know that’s not gonna happen because these events only exist in the first place to promote shit, whether that is movies, other games, pokemon merch from a retailer or trying to instil some fomo and make you pay full price near launch for a new copy.

Game Freak has a long history of being retarded. The concept of event pokemon is neat (in theory), but it’s completely tone deaf to global culture. Not everyone has a (INSERT STORE) near them, and it’s unreasonable to expect them to drive for potential hours to get some shitty mythical they’ll likely never use anyway. Having PLA give you events unlocked by other game saved data is probably a compromise on Game Freak’s end, but they’re effectively trying to sell two $60 DLC if you haven’t already purchased those games.

I don’t really give a fuck as an adult, but I thought this stuff was lame when I was a kid. Didn’t know a single person who had a legitimate Darkrai / Shaymin growing up, for example. Everyone used a game shark. I simply don’t understand why Game Freak thinks having lazy pokemon downloads is better for the customer than having baked-in events (unrestricted by save data).

Azure Flute wasn't given out in Japan either anon. It was coded into the game but never released.

The very first Arceus event was the one for the movie in 2009 which then came to the US at Toys R Us in the same year. The Pokemon Company didn't even officially acknowledge Arceus existed until Feburary of 2009. So despite it being in the games, it was inaccessible until they officially revealed it.

The idea is very clearly a REWARD. Its an extra bonus as a thank you for buying another game. In this sense, its usually a special Pokemon that hasn't been given away for a while.(Darkrai and Shaymin were both given away in BDSP through the respective item releases although im sure someone will bitch about that too)

Oh this is desappointing af, I was trying to unlock their quests recently too, good to know that's not possible, I'll focus on the water legends, seeing the cave paintings made me think they were in-game and I got hyped up, guess that wasn't the case after all :(
