You can pirate both.
But if you absolutely want to buy one of them, buy Scarlet. BDSP is worthless compared to DPPt so you should download DPPt instead.

The remakes made me realize how lame Sinnoh is.
It's not interesting to explore, neither are the story or characters
The pokemon distribution is bad, with some gen 4 mons still locked behind post game in those remakes.
Exp.Share removes the difficulty DP could have.
I can't objectively find something good about them

I liked playing BD on my OLED Nintendo Switch. I don't have any other consoles since game boy color. I playd platinum on emulator and it wasn't as fun because I had to hunch over my computer screen. Playing on switch is way more comfy

As someone whose first game was DP, you are better off buying SV. While BDSP has great QoL improvements, such as removing HMs, it is arguably worse in some aspects and certainly not worth the price tag.

Just go online and download an emu of Pokemon Diamond or Platinum. It won't cost you a penny and you get the best of Sinnoh minus the bullshit that Gamefreak put into BDSP.

Yeah, the moment they started making Exp. Share mandatory, I just found myself utterly annoyed and pissed with the game. Especially GameFreak's response to people who wanted it as an option rather than forced on them. It just reminded me that I am fucking done with giving GF money and emulation is the best way to go.

I miss playing on my GBC. Playing the old Pokemon games on GBC is a comfy thing. I've heard of people who can customize your GBC to have a backlight in it. Of course, I've looked into GBC lookalikes that might satisfy that urge to play along with having a system that can emulate them.
