>>52578695Yknow what the problem with this games level curve is? It’s way too front heavy. Pokémon level faster at earlier levels, so in old Pokémon games battles wouldn’t be too plentiful in the early game but would get more frequent towards the end game. In Scarlet and Violet tho, there’s TONS of trainers that are level 10-30 (like 160ish) but much less trainers that are 30+ (Like 80ish).
See, this SOUNDS good on paper, it makes sense that stronger trainers are rarer than weaker ones, and this way the level curve is forgiving in the beginning, allowing for experimentation, but by the end game you need to be investing your exp more wisely.
In PRACTICE tho? This means that most players who use only a team of 6 are gonna be overleveled for the whole game till shit randomly catches up towards the end, while players who rotate a bunch of mons in order to stay on par with the level curve are gonna end up falling behind very quickly towards the end as there’s just not enough exp to stay caught up by then. It’s janky, and the whole fucking thing would be fixed if I could just turn the exp share on and off as I please
