The problem is that Gamefreak didn't go far enough. Pokemon would benefit greatly from a significant number of pokemon species being declared extinct and never coming back. Castform, Spheal line, Kricketot line, Trapinch line, Stantler line, Tepig line, Zigzagoon line, Oshawott line, Finneon line, Volbeat, Illumise, Litten line, Glameow line, Chespin line, Elemental Monkeys, and so much more unnecessary and unpopular bloat that should have been declared extinct for the good of the franchise.
The dexcut is such wasted potential when you think about what could have been. That is the real crime.
