No one would lug around a Gimmighoul for who knows how long before it evolves unless you're already dead-set on using it and go out of your way to gather coins for it like I did and evolved it before the 4th gym

Is Annihilape really that common? I feel like most retards wouldn't go to school so they would have no idea how to evolve it, and they probably deleted Rage Fist for Shadow Claw as soon as it evolved since its stronger

I only had dash for a good chunk of the coin collecting and would go out of my way to seek out the watch towers on the map and trying to figure out cheese strat ways to get to places I'm not supposed to go to yet (mostly by jumping off a really high point to get over rivers) and would constantly go to wandering Gimmighoul spots every day/night cycle (like the ones in the ruins in the first area).

Once I got surf from the 2nd Titan, I just ran around collecting all the coins in all the watchtowers in Casseroya Lake while avoiding every wild Pokemon and managed to get enough coins through them. It was fun, it really gave me a sense of adventure trying to read the maps to figure out how to get to places.

There are 4 watchtowers there, I think, so it gives a huge chunk of coins. The Veluza are really annoying and dangerous though so I always had to have a stock of pokedolls (my Pokemon were around lv 20-25 to their 50)

The Gimmighouls on the watchtowers were also level 50 but they only have astonish and tackle anyway so they're easy to beat even with the level difference

Are the basic and easy choices this generation, I think it's part due to the fact that Tinkaton is probably the most popular Pokemon to come out of Paldea, and a lot of Paldeamons are either single stage or are found like lv.40+ at which point you're already gonna have a solid team, meanwhile both Tinkatink and Charcadet can be found in the same area you fight the Klawf titan.

After these four the most popular are gonna be Ape, Clod and maybe Kingambit or Minecraft. I personally had two different teams for my playthough.

I had several teams to keep rotating, but the main one (the one I settled for the league, AZ and rematches) is:

>Shiny garganacl (started training a regular Nacli but then found a shiny and replaced it)

My 2nd team that deserves an honorable mention is a mono-ghost with Anihilape, Gholdengo, Brambleghast, Ceruledge, Polteageist and Houndstone, and then an honorable mention goes to Clodsire, which was part of the main team until I got the ice dragon. Add Scolvillain, Espathra, Maushold and shiny Luxray and you've got a nice bunch of bros overall :)

Pawmot is part of a lot of casual players' teams. Pawmi was well liked since it was revealed and while we laugh about it, most people I know like the it just gets bigger. Also its surprisingly competent in battle and has a brand new type and a really unique signature move. Like it more or less but its a recipe for success.

Fairy/Steel typing is amazing, signature move is stupidly powerful and has 0 drawbacks (AI is stupid and you can just protect after attack), in scarlet it destroys at least 4/6 and in Violet 3/6 Pokemon in the most difficult fight.

I have yet to see a single playthrough team without Tinkaton or a Charcadet evolution, and I’ve only seen one or two without Pawmot/Kilowattrel, Clodsire, Meowscarada, or Cyclizar

i’m not counting my own because mine was fucking weird (my all new team going in partially blind was as follows:
>Skeledirge
>Garganacl
>Espathra
>Bramblin
>Clodsire
>Kilowattrel
but I switched it out for two other teams with entirely old mon later down the line), but everyone else seems to have very very similar teams
honorable mention goes to any given cross-evo evolution (especially Annihilape or Farigiraf) and Finizen

Meowscarda (I always pick the grass starter, its tradition at this point)

Clodsire
Nacli -> Orthworm
Cyclizar -> Tatsugiri
Sixth slot was always variable, but I ended up using Houndstone there the most and ended the game with Flutter Mane

all in all, pretty basic

Not bad in the early game but kinda dropped off later on mainly due to TM accessibility and Sitrus berries being stupidly hard to come across making proper use of Swords Dance into Unburden + Acrobatics harder than necessary, honestly I think if you want a new poison type just go with Revavroom for physical or Glimmora for special

It's a fast special attacker that's immune to earthquake in a game with full of slowish physical attackers with ground weakness. He compliments most teams very well.
