What would this cat even bring to the table? Greninja had his entire moveset envisioned based on a couple of concept sketches and Incineroar is the first wrestler in Smash Bros. A lot of characters already revolve around bombs.

Still two incredibly highly detailed models that are comparable to the sword chicks. Ice Climbers shows that they can do a partner AI for a fighter and Joker proves it's Switch can handle two fully detailed characters in one.

You need to reread what he said. He mentioned how Ice Climbers just simply mimicked each other and he didn't want to oversimplify Rex and the red bitch to that. It wasn't about technical feasibility of the console but overall the amount of work to bring justice to a duo like Rex and Pyra when it comes to actual game design.
