How would the Tera mechanic affect the ability Wonder guard?

What do you mean? We already know how tera works defensively. It'd defensively become whichever single type it chooses. Or are you asking about the implications? It'd just go Electric with Air Balloon, I guess, and be taken out by Mold Breaker/sandstorm/toxic/burn/hazards—the usual.

I used to run Shedinja with a Pokemon that knew Soak in doubles sometimes, I imagine Tera typing would function the exact same way. It still dies to Sandstorm, Stealth Rock, status and mold breaker (you can usually mitigate one of these at a time with a held item, but it will always be killable).

Yeah, other than hazard (wonder guard isn't going to protect you from that), I assuming terastallizes shedinja would just give it one typing instead of two?

You could also run Terra Normal with
Goggles or Boots and something to set misty terrain. That takes care of most issues while only leaving the weakness to fighting and Moldbreaker.

If you put it behind a substitute with something like shed tail from cyclizar it can't be touched by anything but standstorm, infiltrator status moves, or mold breaker. There are no pokemon in gen 9 that learn stealth rock that are also faster than cyclizar so hazards are not an option.
There's a very good reason they decided against including it this generation.

Shedinja also doesnt exist in gen 9. Theres no instance where non gen 9 pokemon dont exist where only Shedinja does

I doubt shedinja with tera types would be outright broken since there are still plenty of indirect ways to damage it. You might be able to create a checkmate scenario with it more easily but so long as you can still spike, burn, sand, ect it will always be killable. Id like to see it in action but I can understand why it got the axe this gen
