Several people have researched and explored Area Zero before (you) came along, but all of them have been after Heath's time, otherwise the research stations wouldn't even exist. Heath's expedition was the first in history to have "successfully" reached the bottom of it, with the greatest of researchers, explorers, battlers etc having come together for the project. Sada/Turo and their research group explicitly stayed and worked within Area Zero for years.
All the unsuccessful attempts were during the Paldean Emperor's time which makes sense, they don't have the technology nor probably even the method to control/tame Pokemon like we have now. Even Arven and the others have the research stations to take breaks/heal in, and have the flying taxi to take them out if necessary, and the warp stations to go between the different areas. Even putting aside that there are two Champion level trainers among them, they're just following a path which has already been laid for them.
