I took shiny Bergmite and Goomy to SS to evolve into normal Avalugg/Goodra. Games don't NEED to connect to each other, they don't have to have all in one game, thus don't need ubiquitous communication with each other.

Basically, this. The Japanese site keeps a record of what is and isn't mainline too, strangely enough, they list BDSP and Legends alongside Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet.

Gamefreak actually needs to restore functionality of certain moves because they were literally gutted from the codebase. And that's too much work, so they'll just keep those Pokemon from returning. They already hate Smeargle from a balance standpoint as-is.

Increased move arsenal.
They could theoretically learn all of them an retain it in their memories; kinda like teaching Mew all of the TMs in SV, and have them remember each and every single one of them. Despite having a much lower BST as the mystical fetus, it would have a much larger move pool than it.

NTA but it’s fucking Smeargle. Retaining every move doesn’t matter if your so weak you can’t use most of them. The only time Smeargle was broken was when it could use Dark Void and that was more about Sleep being objectively broken. I could see it being broken with Revival Blessing but that says more about the move than Smeargle and they could just make it so that Smearlg can’t use it like they did with Dark avoid.
