I do like how raids at least go fast now. It can be utter cancer in 5+ star raids where you get fucked constantly, but it does mean the lower raids go by in no time. Which is handy in this case since you can farm them for shards quicker.

there is 0 reason to play competitive battles on-cart besides wanting prettier animations as opposed to showdown besides wanting to participate in official tournaments. If that's what a comp player is doing, by all means, use the official game. If you're just looking to battle for enjoyment though, showdown is way easier to acquire a team, and the battles themselves run way faster as opposed to the slog of in-game battling

All shit that could be done in a single text box, split up into single-line messages to eat up a minute of your time.
Or worse, having to watch an extra little 5-second animation before selecting any attack when terastalized. And watching the same 30-second cutscene every time you terastalize a mon.

Farming 50 shards a day is pretty easy. Not to mention that a good deal of competitive Tera types are just stab so you don't have to change Tera type. Also, building up pokemon to comp standards is the easiest it's ever been.

Actually, current VGC teams are heading towards having every mon with its most beneficial Tera, which is usually not its own stab.

The shards thing really needs to be nerfed. I play ranked singles + doubles on cartridge and it's painful to switch. The best alternative is catching the correct tera in a raid and just have multiples of the same pokemon.

I'm convinced the people screeching about showdown have never played a pokemon game in their life lol.

The challenge is much higher on cartridge too for ranked singles/doubles. Top 10 on showdown means nothing and it's a lot of content creators that don't know how to play. An average master ball player on cart is better than a top 100 on showdown.
