Stupid concept. The Gen II Pokemon were never supposed to exist in a vacuum, they were specifically designed to complement the Gen I roster. That's why there are so many effect counters against Psychic and so few Poison types introduced.

Johto without Kanto is half an arch, and half an arch will not stand.

If you include the Gen1 relatives to Gen2 Pokemon (and there's no reason not to since Gen4, 8, 9 relatives are here) it has more than has more Pokémon than Gen1 did. and probably more type diversity to due to the Dark and Steel types.

It's not, not with the overabundance of Poison types, the massive OPness of Psychic, the uselessness of Bug, Dragon and Ghost-types. Hence why Gen II was a balance patch for those issues.

sneasel is also route 28, which is in kanto. didnt include the my silver mons since its technically johto, but honestly that could go either way. feel free to imagine that misdreavus, mismagius, flutter mane, larvitar, pupitar, tyranitar, mega tyranitar, and iron thorns are also listed

Ho-oh was actually on my first attempt from 4 years ago (as was miltank cuz 'muh female tauros') but ultimately I didn't want to include anime references or early designs. It could appear without the beasts, but it felt of without them. That, and it's part of the region's backstory, lore, the towers, etc.

Makes no sense. There's a fat ass difference between "needing to fulfill a strong trade evolving Fighting type mon", and "literally Diglett but a convergent water type".
