Alright so I'm officially never listening to this fucked up board again. All you smelly austist retards told me that SV sucked but I just started playing it and it's literally the best pokemon game to come out since Black/White 2 (the objectively best games in the series). Why can't you dick heads just enjoy something for once? Sad, really.

Coming on this board after just playing the game for about a month has been absolutely insane, these retarded faggots are mindbroken. I live in the real world, where Legends is ass is SV is incredible, fuck this board. The theories, opinions, and beliefs here are not shared anywhere else either in real life or online communities and it’s insane, but watching regular people who aren’t on the spectrum react so overwhelmingly positive to the game is nice, it’s good to see GF get a modern day win.

not an exaggeration. there isn't a single battle facility
it might be great for a lone story playthrough but it has nothing to offer after that.
maybe if it gets the swsh dlc treatment it could be the case, but probably wait till you see everything the game has before you say it's the best since bw2.
unless you really believe that based on story playthrough alone

It's a good game, but it suffers from performance issues. As long as you don't play for too long at a time and reset occasionally, you shouldn't really be bothered by them. They shouldn't have released it in the state it is in, but they didn't really have a choice. After you finish the story, there isn't really too much to do. It's better than base SWSH, but post DLC SWSH has more to do. I would argue that S/V's story is better than SWSH's story by miles though.

I really wanted to hunt shinies and train some pokemon once I beat the game but then quickly lost all desire.

There's about four things you can do post-game
Go pick up the five legendaries
Ace Tournament which is extremely repetitive
The handful of gym challenges
Raids which are extremely repetitive

I'm not joking when I say that's it. There's no minigames, hidden quests, and you cannot rebattle the E4, gym leaders or trainers. Nothing.

And as someone that hasn't played since gen 6, SV felt somewhere between gen 2 and gen 3 with how rough it was. It's all a huge step back, especially with how they just hand things out to you and put everything in the menus. The shittiest romhacks are more creative than SVs QoL solutions.

SV are fucking phenomenal games, I'm playing them right now, really taking my time, catching and training all the pokemon, exploring all the areas, it's great, I'm already 12.5 hours in and all I've done so far is the first gym just cause there's so much to do.
BUT I can tell that if, in the future, I don't feel like doing all that, I could feasibly just train 6 mons and only battle the trainers on the main paths and I'd end up just getting a more condensed version of what I'm getting now. It feels perfect, I can already tell that these games are gonna have phenomenal replay value.

I can guarentee both of you I'm gonna feel the same way, I'm way more concerned with the game having a fun and content filled main game and I already know it does
I already know that no almost no buildings are enterable, I already know that there's no post game facilities, and I already know that there's no side quests outside of the stuff the teachers ask you to do. EVEN knowing all that, I still love this game. I'm getting so much out of the aspects that ARE in the game that I'm perfectly satisfied.
The ONLY shitty thing about the game is its performance. And yea, it's very much doodoo and can be pathetic, but the good parts really outshine that for me.

Because some of us are sick of settling for mediocrity. For years, hell decades, pokemon games have been given a pass for their middling faults, flaws, and drawbacks with "nah man, just wait, once it comes to a REAL system, it'll be amazing!" Well, we're here, and it's still subpar. Battling sucks compared to things like BR and the GC titles, story/plot wise it's still the same, tired gym, baddies, league, legendary climax, fill the dex, done we've been doing since RBY, interactivity with pokemon CONTINUES to be dumbed down and downgraded compared to what XY provided, the music continues down this cancerous path of electronic/techno shit, etc. If you wanna wallow in nostalgia sludge, more power to you, but SV isn't any better than anything that came before.

As someone who values replay value more than post-game (especially since I hate every battle facility outside of a few of the frontier ones and the PWT), I honestly really don't care that there's no Battle Tower. In fact, I welcome it because it means you don't need to grind that stupid boring mode for competitive items. I don't see the point in adding battle facilities if they don't bother to make them creative and actually worth doing when online battles already exist.

And in terms of replay value, SV has FAR more to offer than any other mainline Pokemon game, full stop. There's just so many fun ways you can experience the game and so much options for Pokemon, you can choose to do any of the badges in any order, and I love being able to catch foreshadowing or implications to the characters that I didn't notice before. Currently doing a replay where I'm traversing the map "naturally", treating it like a normal route by just challenging the gyms and Team Star and not facing any of the titans until I get to a point where I'd need a specific upgrade and it's been really comfy. Been using a completely different team to my old one too.

I'm happy for you that you're enjoying the game, but it's really funny about how you gush about the game being able to be played in so many ways the others can't be, then proceed to say you're playing it like a bog standard Pokémon game complete with only getting HMs when you need them for progression.

If you like the game, that's fine, but it still has objective flaws. It's a rushed mess with tons of glitches and frame issues. It's 2022. We should except and recieve better from Gamefreak. I personally don't really care how fun it is. After being lied to about glitches not ruining the experience with BFBB Rehydrated, I'm not touching SV with a 50 foot pole.
