>>52641846Actually because of the way digimon works, that picture there is literally every species of digimon, all others are evolvutions of those and can be de-evolved back into those babies.
So you only need to collect 72 species and then evolve and devolve them over to have them all registered in your thoeretical digi-dex. Much more reasonable than needing 500 or so species that you'd have evolve or breed to get the full dex entries.
