try going through your pokedex and seeing if any mons have shinies registered
check out Zangoose and Orthworm first so you know what to look for

You shouldn't worry too much about it though. It's not your fault that game freak made such a pain in the ass to find a shiny in this game compared to Arceus. You can always shiny hunt with herba mystica anyway if you feel like you missed a shiny.

I saw a Shiny Dugtrio but didn't even bother attempting to catch it because I was underleveled and Gen 1 shinies are basically worthless because of LGPE anyway.

I wouldn't worry too much, apparently I missed 2 shinies despite I never gotten one. I don't know why they didn't added sparkle sound for when you are near a shiny like with PLA

It's going to continue, but to the point you don't care. I reset on shiny now. I had a Finizen I accidentally killed, and a Gogoat that Take Downed itself. A Gible that did the same. Only real tragedy was hitting the wrong move on a shiny Iron Treads.... I'm Scarlet, so was in a V Union Circle. Oof

Did you hold someone's shiny hostage for a touch trade or trade evolution?
It would register as you "owning" that shiny and put it on your card.

While this thread is up, I wanted to question it as well. Is recieving a shiny pokemon from Wonder tarde suppose to bump up the number on ID for shinies or no?

I was wondering the same. My card says I've battled 4 shinies while I've only caught 3 myself, but received a 4th one in a trade (though this was a link trade, not a surprise trade). I'm wondering if it's counting the one I received via trade or if I missed a shiny.

yes
any shiny you engage in battle or own (even temporarily) will count
the number "battled" really means the number "seen", but like you can't just see a pokemon in the overworld to add it to the dex you won't have the counter go up just by running past a shiny
