Pyroar canonically just use their fire to hunt but only as a last resort because they prefer raw meat. Others like Charizard supposedly live in mountains. The common link seems to be lands without dense vegetation to cause forest fires.
Curiously, Pokemon that do live in volcanoes like Magmar and Slugma tend to be found in urban areas as well.
