The expansion pack is actually very fun if you already played swsh. Yes SV is a new game but there nothing for you to do but to play glitched raids and retarded pvp battles in post game for now.

I liked scarlet a lot, but its bad in hindsight. I finished the pokedex in 60 hours, getting a perfect pokemon takes almost no grind at all (to the point where i could create raid ready pokemons from random youtube guides in a matter of 1 to 2 hours), the only post game is a school competition where everyone uses lvl 65 pokemons and have 0 strategy (no held items, no potions, notjis that isnt braindead attacks). I feel like sword and shield wasnt this bad, and dynamax raids are slower and more annoying but at least they dont bug out

Neither. Modern pokemon sucks, get into better monster raising/battling games.
I suggest Monster Sanctuary, Shin Megami Tensei and one of the Dragon Quest Monsters 3DS games, emulated with the english patch.

This, unlike other franchises where people still play previous installments (like Splatoon for example), Pokemon fans migrate en masse every new gen completely abandoning the previous game's online. I'd say buy Scarlet now to have fun and discuss with everyone else and once we enter the Gen 10 waiting period buy SwSh's DLC to kill time and keep entertaining yourself.

highly recommend SMT. If you have a 3ds, you can play the 4 duology for free since modding the 3ds is braindead simple nowadays. Also there is a seemingly endless amount of pokemon fangames emulatable on the system too. Don't waste your money on dogshit games when there are thousands of other ones you could play (often for free)
