If it wasn't for the large time gap, I would have gone a different route, with a super old Dawn knocking on the door to her own house, but her mom doesn't recognize her (maybe calling a service to pick her up thinking she's a crazy old lady). I think GF figured "Well Arceus said he'd send them back when they finished, so it's implied", but they should have had a scene actually showing it. Like, I get they they want to allow the player to continue playing after the game, but since you catch Arcues in the end, they could handwave it with "Oh, we didn't expect you to return from your own time! Given you have to catch the whole Creation Trio and the Space-Time Distortions last some time after, it really would be just a bit of cutscene work and a small area to access modern Pokemon amenities as post-game bonus. Could sprinkle in some specific changes to DPPt Sinnoh to denote that you did in fact save the originally-extinct Pokemon.
