If all you want to do is catch Pokémon and nothing else, maybe, but PLA did catching better by simply allowing you to catch outside of battle.
I don't find walking around in empty, ugly, and glitchy worlds fun.
I don't find doing the same exact battle done 8, 5, and 5 times with the only difference being the type fun.
I don't find going into a eye and ear-searing cave with 3 other people and being forced to go there simply because all the endgame items are dropped there fun.
I don't find playing a game where the sandwich making minigame has more effort put into it than the very monsters the series is named after fun.

Why is that a bad thing? Special now that they dont make the same sound over and over I think it sounds cute, cuter and less weird than just a human voice saying "pikachu"
