Gengar fulfills him trading away Haunter.
Dracovish and Sirfetch'd are funny and based.
Lucario feels deserved especially since Ash canonically can control aura.

Dragonite exists and honestly it could've been replaced by anything.

Blatant Competitivefag mon, YMMV on if you like that or not.

Not bad, could've been a lot worse, but I think they should've traded one of the Kanto and Galar mons for ones from different regions if they wanted it to have that "worldwide" feel they were going for.

Shillcario is overdue and pretty cool, should've been that Riolu.
Dracovish is a pleasant underdog surprise that fits his no mon left behind mentality.
Gengar should've been Haunter.
Dragonite makes no sense.
Sirfetch'd is neat, but also random.

All of them should've been raised for much longer.

In Japanese they actually got the same guy to voice Ash's Lucario as the Lucario from the Mew movie. Pretty cool detail desu.

This so much.
Also unironically he should have had Charizard instead of Dragonite. Much more iconic for a final team, keeps the flying type while avoiding the redundant dragon type and adds fire.

Gengar should've been Sabrina's Haunter returning.
Instead of Dragonite they could've had that Larvitar he cared for, would also provide a Gen 2 representative.
Using the same Riolu from DP would've been cool but I think having Ash's Riolu be an eggmon works too.
Sirfetch'd is based so he can stay.

I think instead of Dracovish they could've done a Gen 3/5/6/7 mon. Alternatively they could've had a rotating slot for his old mons.

Always though Dragonite should be substituted by a Tyranitar (he did have a Larvitar at some point), mostly because SO many trainers had Dragonites (Lance and Iris on the tournament) and none ever had a Tyranitar.
