>>52677250I just use regular pokeballs for everything. Can't go wrong with the classic simplicity of the red and white design. Since your starter is also in a red pokeball, it's nice to walk up to a pokemon center and see 6 matching red pokeballs getting healed up. It hurts my autism to see 6 different mismatching pokeballs with clashing designs, you know. I want them all to be the same.
I also like how they're widely available in every mainline game, including side games like Colosseum and XD. The problem with other balls is they're often hard to stock up on. I like Moon balls, but apricorn balls are usually rare in non-Johto games. I like Luxury balls, but they was 1 per game in the original RSE games. If it breaks, there's no more. Some balls like Safari and Dream could only be used in specific situations (for Gen 5 games, Dream was only usable in that dream world for example). It's availability issues like those that me prefer Poke balls instead.
