The thing I feel the most skeptical about is the new anime led by new protagonists will miss a lot of depth in emotion that was afforded by the deep bond between Ash and his Pikachu. Further, Ash himself matured heavily in later seasons and was able to develop incredibly deep bonds with some of his lead Pokemon
I just don't see how they can capture this same feeling with new protagonists who are just starting their Pokemon journeys. They are less mature, have less experiences with their Pokemon, and I don't know if they can offer the same emotional depth.
