Greninja is a maybe, it's certainly still popular enough but they seem hell-bent on killing it off.
I don't think we're going to get another smash bros in time for meow or ghold, so I'd say probably meow depending on how the new anime goes and/or a gen whatever is most recent shill spot that will rotate

Pikachu is more than Ash's ace at this stage, it's mascot of entire franchise, a Mickey Mouse of Pokemon. Sure as fuck TPC will plaster this yellow fucker all over new anime just so kids will not forget what they are watching.

Sure, but Lucario isn't moving loads of merchandise. My point is, this cat thing won't move merchandise as much as Pikachu does. They tried to push Eevee but it never caught on, I doubt this cat will do it either. Whoever is moving the most merchandise will be put on the Mascot pedestal.

To add some more, I'm just saying OP is comparing popularity with twitter artists and furries to that of the general public. The only way I see the cat being somewhat successful would be by keeping it in its base evolution throughout the entirety of the show and in merchandise. Its bad enough it looks like a fucking knock-off Digimon, but its other 2 evo's aren't going to sit well with the general public.
