Team Stars camps are all incomplete. They put up all these tents, platforms, other trainers.etc and did nothing with them. They're all place-holders. Even the signs designating where the leaders tents are is just a re-colored PokeCenter sign.

These places well and truly feel like liminal spaces. There was clearly meant to be more done with them. Never once do you ever need to walk up these platforms. Its clear they had more plans for them but the games were rushed out the door so we'll never know

Also, on the beaches in the north parts of the map near the Great Wall of Kalos you'll find small bits of washed up stuff like old Wagon wheels and crates, not sure if these appear in other areas of the game. Odd

I know what you mean, everything feels like an old N64 game, when devs wanted to make big worlds but didn't have the technology yet to fill them with minute details, and as a result you get a lot of wide empty spaces, places that don't feel real.

Makes sense, I think both Scarlet and Violet and KSP use terrain generators for landscapes. Which is common practice when making modern open worlds, BotW and RDR2 both made use of terrain generator tools for example, but typically devs will touch up the world and add details afterwards, Gamefreak just didn't, hence why it looks so old fashioned and uncanny.

I don't remember what the last one is. They're all fly locations if you check the sign near them.

I really do not like the feeling of playing Scarlet/Violet. It felt so cold and soulless. The empty map and disgustingly bad graphics and colour pallete are going to make this game age horribly. I went back to PLA after finishing Scarlet and it's astounding how much of a difference in quality there is. The world in PLA may be as empty, but it didn't feel like it was randomly generated like SV. Also, I swear there's like 3 overworld themes in total in SV. But in PLA there's a different one for each little area. It also doesn't help that SV has the BGM playing constantly.

But let's be real, white was a tidy little game. Those stadiums were cool. I remember never bothering to go in them, until much later and being pleasantly surprised that there was new npc types to battle.

Team star bases are honestly weird. And obviously I finished. So this is a really dumb comparison. I don't remember the tents, that sounds like soulful flavor. But ramps? Bullshit pointless ramps in the gigantic team star areas? I'm gonna remember that as a fail.

So to that guy going off, I think you're wrong and that you should calm down. None of this really matters that much. its just our opinions on a product. I already gave them my money. Hope they do something cool for DLC.

This guy that keeps saying "great wall of Kalos" has punched my imagination. Now I'm imaging a little saucy south of France addition to the map. Despite disliking Kalos at first I've come around to the idea that it was just a little undercooked and really just needed a Z. Maybe thisll scratch the itch.

I never played SwSh, were the DLCs based on Scotland and Iceland?

They're there. I found two others. One is a secluded beach with a single trainer and a small waterfall. It tends to have a lot of sparkling spots. The other is that big cave system by the lake, with the giant stone columns. It's still crazy to me how they didn't let us mark the map so we can come back to these things. My memory is not what it used to be and I don't want to have to pull up a map online every time I want to go find something. Even Legends had the ability to mark the map and set waypoints that weren't predetermined

As one friend said to me around the time this game came out, It's a shame the game has to look like shit and run like shit because once you wipe off that surface of crap there's actually a really good game in here. That's the biggest crime in me. This is actually an enjoyable, good game at its core. There are a lot of really good ideas here. The spirit of the game is exactly what it should be. But it had to be developed by some of the most incompetent fucking morons led by a company who is so greedy for more cash that they pushed it out the door before it was done

I just wish Legends of Arceus had more content like more towns to explore and it could easilly have been the best game in the series. GameFreak is incapable of giving us a finished product. At this point I'm convinced its their business model. Give people just enough hope that the latest games are perfect finally, but make them unfinished anyways so they'll have to buy the next games. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum. I'm sick of this bullshit. I just want a finished Pokemon game. Something I can finally call the definitive experience

Its obvious the Star Raids were originally going to have more depth to them other than 10 minutes of autobattling. The Star Camps are pretty massive, and even the 10 minute timer itself is way too generous to be a real challenge, almost like its just a placeholder as well. Star Raids were going to be more involved and possibly had you actually entering those tents, but the games are unfinished so we just see a bunch of artifacts from earlier in the games development.

The fact that you just run around and do the team star battles with the let's go feature is really lazy. It would have been a lot more interesting and I think a cool concept if it didn't turn into you just running around looking for fights and kind of wandering in the space with nobody even chasing you. They could have gotten the same impact with just some simple changes:
>Walking up to the base entrance prompts a cutscene and a battle against the guard
>You ring the bell and a bunch of Team Star members rush the gate
>Suddenly you're in a circle of Team Star members blocking you from leaving, and they randomly send in Pokémon for you to fight with the let's go feature
>Team star members are cheering, your trainer cannot move and just freezes in place cheering too while your Pokémon run around and fight. Maybe you get the options to cheer on your Pokémon similar to raids but you cannot access your bag so it's truly a battle of stamina to see how long your three Pokémon can last
>Instead of being 30 battles for like the first three bases, it grows from 30, to 45 to 60, etc the point that the last base has you fighting maybe even 100 Pokémon to make it feel like they are a real threat
>Sometimes a member will step forward and challenge you to an actual battle during this to take a break in the action
>After you clear everybody, the boss shows appears from a high platform or by walking into the crowd
>Prompt the battle against the boss
>You beat their team, they make some statement, and then Star reveals their car in a unique cutscene for each squad
>Boss gets on top and then you fight the car itself. Boss no longer "glitches to nowhere" when you attack the car. Car is notably harder to fight.
>After you beat the boss, you then get access to parts of the base which are significantly smaller than how they are the game now
>Player becomes new "boss" and all members remaining just become NPCs who talk, sell, trade, battle, etc

Says who? Seems to me like they made the Let’s Go mechanic and figured they should have something that uses it excessively. Plus, none of the paths are really as in-depth as what you’re suggesting.

That’s because it’s not the real challenge, the auto battles boil down to you having properly typed Pokémon (there’s even machines you can use to heal your Pokémon so there’s literally no challenge) and are just a warm up for the star mobile fights, which do get challenging depending on which one you face.
Literally what more would entering the tents be? Would either be more auto battles which is nothing, or battles against the team star grunts 1v1, which would just be prolonging the final battle with the captain.

Probably would be, and you know what? I actually wish they just did that instead. It would've given you a real incentive to explore the camps (because again, these camps are huge but theres no reason to visit even 10% of them) and would've added more character interaction. The autobattling followed by a boss battle feels really shallow
