Anyway, this line is clearly meant to be understood as "I'm glad we became friends!" and anything else is headcanon - which is fine for those that want to believe, and if it makes them happy. Shipping is supposed to be fun anyway, not something to be taken seriously. Me? I really liked the short exchange between Ash and Goh.
