Ash is retiring. I'm glad the promo art for his final 11 episodes (and the reunion with Butterfree) suggest this will be a reunion tour reuniting him with the wide array of Pokemon he has used in the past.
I'm grateful for the kino run that was the XY anime followed up by the Sun and Moon anime. The only major issue with that run was not allowing Ash to win the Kalos league.
The anime has absolutely been apologizing for that ever since then. Ash is a champion. Resetting him every region doesn't make sense and neither does never allowing him to win leagues make sense.
It seems Ash is getting a happy ending. The games aren't what they used to be.
The anime will never be as good as the DP/XY/Sun and Moon days. The games will never be as good as the DS days. It sucks, but this is just the truth.
Pokemon used to be about going outside, exploring and connecting with nature. The games and franchise are way too obsessed with technology now.
It's time to let it go and maybe network with other disgruntled fans to channel our sadness from the decline of Pokemon into something productive
