lead up to xy chespin was my favorite of the starters,
went in blind and even after seeing all the final starters I liked chespins whole evolution line the most. I think the bulky juggernaut designs look really cool a lot of the time and I especially loved the shield animation for chesnaught in XY. beat the whole battle chateau with him. I do think the shiny is cooler though.
despite all that my favorite grass type is actually another kalos mon, trevenant, who I like even more. the reason I have phantump on my list is because on my first playthrough I didn't ever look up how to evolve it and just ended the game with a lv 70+ phantump on my team. ghost is also my favorite type so that helps it being my favorite grass type
