Reception of one game in a series is usually influenced a lot by the quality of the previous game, after SwSh, BDSP, and an awkwardly placed experiment, it's not suprising that the reviews are so low.

Sneed. ORAS had soaring, new megas, dexnav, primals, hoopa portals to catch legendaries, the Delta Episode, the E4 + Steven using megas, ect
FRLG had the sevii isles and Entei/Raikou/Suicune

And yet it printed money. It really shows that quality doesn't matter in Pokemon games anymore because of brainless consoomers. I mostly blame Pokemon GO for this shit.
