>>52690104I started my journey with Pokemon Red, and I used to adore the anime back in the days. It was exciting to play the game while watching Ash on his own journey, watching him visit the same places as me, and going through similar situations as I have. This continued when I got Silver as well. I love the idea of raising Pokemon much more than battling, to imagine caring for and cuddling with my own Pokemon. The closest I could come to that was Pokemon-Amie, and I was happy with that. It even made me adore Froakie because of how cute it is in Pokemon-Amie. Of course, I still prefer Slowpoke as my starter and companion.
There is just a part of me that wants something laid back, an adventure in comfiness that has you going with your best friend and companion, exploring the world and caring for them. They support you both in combat, but outside of it as moral support and companionship.
