You realize Trick Room persists on switch, right? Not that this really remedies it's mediocre offenses. Maybe if you give it a mixed moveset you could utilize whatever stat gets boosted by Moody? I dunno.

That's the point. It's the same reason normal types usually have large move pools, because vthey don't have any SE stabs. The only pokemon with good stats AND big move pools are Pseudos.

That's right. Mixed attackers could be okay,but they always make them so slow, it's so irritating. Gen 3s dex is so bad because it's full of that kind of stat spread

Mixed attackers can be good. Arcanine has high VGC usage at the moment for example. I've seen it run Flare Blitz and Heat Wave on different sets.

Octillery has 105 ATK and Sp. ATK which is nothing to sneeze at. Also its HP, DEF, Sp. DEF are slightly above average and its bulk becomes better once you realize since its a MONO Water type (one of the best mono types if not the best) which only has two weaknesses. Its problem is its speed, having to compete with other Water types for its niche, and lack of reliable recovery.

I used moody Octillery in trick room for early Swsh meta. It was fun lots of teams couldn’t deal with water spout coming off 105 special attack and if he is on the field for 2+ turns his stats start getting ridiculous

But it's not good because it's a mixed attacker, though. It also has like 30+ points more than the average Pokemon, and after a certain point you're bound to be good simply because you have more points than the other mons even if a good chunk of them are in garbage places.

Having mixed stats isn't an issue, it's trying to use both of them equally at the same time.
It's also not a blanket statement, because it being 'hard' does not mean 'impossible'.
It's just something you need to do it with careful consideration. It needs to be their strong point specifically, as opposed to just being able to run either.
