I do kind of respect the starter surprise trades even if I've already got them all. They don't show up in raids, and they always make the day for people who don't already have them.
There is an in-game Haunter trade that evolves into Gengar. And they show up in raids. But at least it's a pokemon you can't evolve by yourself.
That Skeledirge was kind of odd though. Level 39. It did spawn from an egg so it wasn't their actual starter, but they did level it up and evolve it before surprise trading it. Kind of rare I think even if it's no better than simply receiving a Fuecoco.
Now I was going to shit on this trade session for giving me zero version exclusives of any kind. But truth is, that the 36th oof these 40 trades actually gave me a Scream Tail. A Scarlet Paradox mon that's not in my version, doesn't appear in raids, and that I didn't have.
In total that Scream Tail would have been my 67th surprise trade. But I finally surprise traded with someone else trading their version's paradox pokemon.
I will however still shit on these trades and these players for how not a single one of these trades. ZERO of them. Came with a Held Item.
People really don't give a shit. 71 trades and not a single Held Item of any kind.
Overall I am satisfied because I actually got a Scream Tail. But I am still disappointed in people for the complete lack of Held Items.
But Surprise Trades are kind of exciting. I kind of thought I'd never actually get a Scream Tail through Surprise Trades.
And separate to the Surprise Trades, I found a shiny Iron Valiant while catching Paradox pokemon in Area Zero. So I am very happy. Catching the stragglers while I was there was alright. And the 40 Malicious Armors I got from like a single Sinistea mass outbreak coupled with an item drop sandwich.
And hopefully a lot of the players appreciated my Violet Paradox pokemon and Malicious Armors.
