Heterosexual content doesn't quite hit the same because it's the "default setting" - it is something that we have coded in as normal, so seeing straight people hold hands or kiss doesn't bring as much attention as gay people doing the same. It just doesn't stimulate the same areas of the brain, that's why it doesn't work symmetrically.
Also, nowhere did I say that lack of homosexual showcase in media would reduce the number of gay people to zero (this is just you hitting the strawman). Natural homosexuals do exist and always did. What I am saying is that the pervasive and straightforward (sometimes to the point of vulgarity) homosexual propaganda in media and public space may have an effect on the growing number of "LGBTQ+" people in the Western World. Because the figures DID rise. Libtards are laughing it off by saying that "hurr durr it's because people used to be in the closet" (and they use the same reasoning for any past survey, regardless of whether it was performed in 1950 or 2010 - it may have some point in case of the former, where many people were likely gaslighted to thinking that they're perfectly straight, but in 2010 or 2015 the world wasn't that much different), which is straight up denying the numbers, something that would be called a "conspiracy theory" in just every other context. But in context of LGBT+ stuff, conspiracy-based reasoning is perfectly acceptable, for some reason.
