You, ma'am, have fallen for the media trap. For a long, long time, black people have been seen doing the same things (usually awful things) or performing the same roles over and over and over and over again in the media, so that's most, if not all, you've ever been exposed to.
That repetition causes your brain to make associations that become so engrained that they're hard to change. You assume that whatever's shown in the media is all that is or will ever exist about black people. What's worse is you've probably met very few (or no) black people in real life and/or the first one you met was an awful person which further solidified said associations via confirmation bias.
