I used Ledian and it surprisingly wasn't that bad. I gave it Thunder and Ice Punch and dual screens.

Pre-Physical/Special split, Ledian was kind of sensible. Flying so its poor Defense is balanced by double-resisting Fighting and being immune to Ground, and it has a very high Special Defense. I know someone here posted a video of solo Ledian crushing Red.

Heracross for sure, you can get one in Azalea. Chinchou is vastly underrated as well imo and choose Meganium as a starter because she needs more representation.

Lanturn also helps with coverage and provides surf. If you can trade then rock and early Steelix from Violet city. That or you can get an early Phanpy from Route 46 at the beginning in the morning.

Still deciding on what do with eevee/if I carry it to the end game, I plan on using some mons to breed with for egg moves take them to stadium 2, and make a team for another playthrough of yellow to finish the dex across all 3.
