Why does it feel like whenever someone explains the origin of a pokemon's design/name, they sound like they are pulling random bullshit out of their ass that somehow matches up?

It seems like he comes to a conclusion before he actually finds evidence.
Like he decided that every Galarian Pokemon is British, and then has to explain why Roman soldiers, Celtic runes, Indian elephants, and American metal bands are totally British because Britain used to either conquer or be conquered by those countries.

pokemon have deep origins often but lockstin is a retard who just makes shit up to sound smart. it's why his designs suck, because he doesn't actually understand everything that goes into a pokemon design and focuses so much on feel inspirations that he makes shit up and forgets there are any other design philosophies.

In most cases it's easy to point out where the origins of a pokemon and/or its concept comes from.
This was MOSTLY the case up until gen 6/7 where shit started becoming intangible as far as origins and you could swear that everyone was just grasping at air to legitimize the awful designs coming out of the pipelines.
Gen 6 and 7, if you took all the garbage 'mons of those gens, would make one entire gen's worth of passable 'mons. It's just all dogshit anymore.
