Gen 2 was the Julio Claudian dynasty. It ended abruptly but Gen 3 was the Pax Romana and it's zenith. Gen 4 was Commodus in one go since it was slow to do anything and ruined the systems that existed. Gen 5 was a totally new thing that desperately tried to link itself to prior and better things just like Severus tried to make it look like he was related to the Antonines but everyone could see the sham and it all fizzled away with his mediocre sons and Gen V's mediocre "mature story" Gen 6 was the Crisis of the Third Century, it had a lot of empty zones, the story was ass, the lore sources are as unreliable as the Historia Augusta, the end boss was super fucking shit in the games and the plot points kept going nowhere in both, Gen 7 was Gallienus/Aurelian underappreciated in their moment and were the last hurrah, Gen 8 is the shitfuckery of the Tetrarchy V1 with it needing to be carried by Kanto shit/Diocletian going full dominus trying to be like Octavian, Gen 9 is the Maxentius/Daia/Licinius horseshit. We pray Gen 10 is Constantine now.
