Very understandable. Slugma in gen 2 only appears in the grass on Cycling Road, with the only hint in the game being an NPC who mentions seeing "weird slow pokemon" around there, which could also describe the Grimer found in the same location. I literally only knew that Slugma was in gen 2 because I had a trading card of it (but not Magcargo, which I thought was gen 3).
