I want to use this thing so badly but it gets NO FUCKING MOVES. Seriously, it has rock head but doesn’t get head smash or brave bird? Rampardos and Bastiodon are known for having absurd Attack/Defense stats, that's their gimmick.
What's the gimmick of the Omastar and Kabutops line? Nothing. They're just thrown into the pile and added every time you can mass find fossils, nothing more. THEY are the most forgotten fossilmons.

Kabutops at least was a major threat (kind of?) in the fifth movie. I'll concede to Omastar though, as the Twitch memes were more about Omanyte rather than it's evolution.

Gimmicks are what gets a fossilmon remembered. It's what makes them stand out. If it's JUST a regular-ass Pokemon without anything special to their name they will be forgotten. Look at Finneon/Lumineon. Everyone describes that as the most forgotten line, but that's what it's known for nowadays; "The Forgotten Pokemon". That's it's gimmick, and ironically what it's remembered for.

The Helix Fossil meme completely killed all appreciation for the Omanyte line, which is unfortunate because it used to be my second-favorite to the Anorith line. The Kabuto line is okay, at least in gen 1.

Meanwhile Aurorus doesn't even look like it could be a Rock-type Pokémon except for maybe the crystals on it. Even then the crystals are made of Ice. Seriously, unlike Tyrantrum with the spike, head crest and scales looking rockish there's nothing about Aurorus that appears to resemble a rock in any way.

Just got done watching the DP anime, and I fucking LOVE Byron, so am planning to do a "full" fossil team run. Aerodactyl is definately going to be part of it, Bastiodon is also absolutely required, as is Steelix. Love Kabutops, so that nigger is coming along, and then I guess it's a toss up between Hoenn or Kalos' fossilmons since Unova's are types already covered.
