I mean, I started with RSE, so I didn't cared much, and I missed many gens, but I knew Eevee had some love through the years.
When LGPE happened, I was like "woah, Yellow and Brown? Cool, that brings memories".
If anything, I wonder why nobody picked Clefairy as the 3rd mascot, but I guess not many read the manga/find it too gimmicky with Metronome being it's viable attack for a while. At least the Fairy typing made it interesting, but I didn't care much since Normal STAB is good with stuff like Strenght and Hyper Beam. Teach it Meteor Smash ifyou want before evolving it, but that's up to the player at that point.
