From a “lore” stand point the champion having a Pokémon from Area Zero is pretty good. But Glimmora is best as a lead Pokémon. Kingambit absolutely should’ve been her ace.

You can find Glimmet early in the game (level 25-27) in the early cave and mines but with a 1% encounter rate.

They completely reworked the BDSP league into a genuine challenge despite the “”””faithful”””” philosophy the rest of the game adhered to so why they made Geeta pisseasy is genuinely baffling.

you're seeing up to 15 spawns at once and there's a bunch of fixed encounters throughout the game, there really isn't anything rare in this game

Volo's team consisted of 8 pokemon, those last two slots being both forms of Giratina. Having a champion that led with a toxic spikes setter wouldn't be that farfetched.

The encounter rates are now influenced by overworld spawns AND biomes so even 1% encounter rates are now more commonly encountered than the previous Gens. But compared to the other Pokémon in the game, they’re still rare.
