Why do outbreaks only cycle through the same 20 or so Pokemon?
It's so fucking annoying and tedious to sift through them while date changing. I can't fucking comprehend why they'd weight the outbreak list so fucking heavily towards the exact same Pokemon.
How the fuck am I supposed to get what I want out of this? How is the average player?

Go to the area of the Pokemon you want to get an outbreak for.
Eat an encounter sandwich for one of its types, preferably whichever has less competition.
Open up the map on that area.
Reroll until desired result.

What outbreaks appear is influenced by where you are. Move somewhere else, preferably a different biome. The results will change.

I hunted pretty much every fishmon in the game Anon, I get ya
unfortunately Barboach and Whiscash are fucking assholes that only spawn in tiny ass bonds where only one or two can spawn at any time and every other pokemon in the pools will take priority over them, even with an outbreak
ground sandwich wouldn't even work because of Pooper
I'm just switching back to PLA for that line

I don't think it really matters. Fire will compete with Scovillain and Flareon, Poison will compete Toxtricity and Glimmet.
I guess technically Fire would be better because once you get the outbreak, you will see less/won't see any Tox/Glimmet in the cave for whatever duration left you have on the sandwich.

None of it is guaranteed, the three influences (player area, map area and encounter type) are all just that - influences. Sometimes it takes me two or three resets to get the mon I want with this method, sometimes up to 50.

Getting specific Pokemon to spawn with outbreaks takes a ton of resetting, if someone did it without resetting they'd maybe see one actual desirable/new Pokemon a month and the rest would be your usual Bronzong/Noibat/Psyduck/Buizel.

Reloading apparently does apply the sandwich to influence the outbreaks, but it also removes the buff so you'd only get one per sandwich. This is just what the shiny hunting thread anons say though, I have my own method.

Nothing got "removed", all outbreak exploits were discovered on the latest patch, having a lv.2 encounter sandwich + being in the area of the Pokemon you want heavily boosts the chance your desired outbreak will appear, but it's still very rare and will take a while, that's just how it is.

yup, just an outbreak like any other
remember to save once you get the outbreak you want because if you crash or reload for whatever reason without doing so the game will reroll outbreaks again

Oh, thanks. I'm a fucking idiot then, tried this for the first time yesterday and got my desired mon from the getgo and was surprised with how many there were but didn't know the same kill-60 thing applied since ""it's not an outbreak"" so I just ran around despawning and respawning until I gave up. Wow. Well I guess better late than never but still.

If you're somewhere you can do it, setting up a picnic is better than running out of render distance because it despawns wild pokemon and then spawns a new lot when you end it. Also outbreaks on the edge of a town, you can just work out where the border is and run inside then back out to refresh all the spawns. Unfortunately Area Zero is a no picnic zone, and water is obviously out.
