>>52726661There were no pokémon in Area Zero.
Heath fictionalized the entire expedition, evidence including the fake gorilla pokémon, the photos of the Paradonphans are clearly different from drawings which in turn are different from the actual pokémon, the lack of any jungle environment shown in the pictures of paradonphan and the fact that there are only a handful of paradoxmon in area zero with the rest being sealed up at the bottom despite the journal making them seem relatively common.
The professor believed every word of the book, entered into area zero, discovered the power of the Tera crystals and came under the influence of an as of yet undefined influence.
This could be disk-kin but I doubt it's actually a real thing.
This influence appears to have the ability to grant sincerely held wishes, and influences him to build the "time machine" for reasons likely to be explained in the DLC, probably using the paradoxmons as a kind of carrot to continue to motivate its creation.
It also created the AI helper at some point and I have a sneaking suspicion that it may have fucked with Arven during pregnancy as we know he was born during the professors work, possibly in area zero.
I'm very confident that I'm right, but only the dlc will tell.
