Are we hyped for the dlc in southern Kalos yet? I can absolutely see Zygarde and its hexagonal features returning. theres an awful lot of floette to be found in the Area Zero crater as well

if they bring back mega, they'll change the mechanic.
might only be 3 turns like dynamax, or less stat boosts to certain megas.

might be activated before the fight so it shows up on team preview and you can't do speed tier mega shenanigans or surprise someone 2 turns after switching in with a banette prankster D-bond.

Can confirm mega is back, and pikachu gets what's called the overcharged form
They did a stealth reveal in the anime. Gives pikachu the same stats as partner pikachu from let's go minus the hp increase, but since it's not a true mega it doesnt need a stone so it can still hold items such as light ball

Area Zero is where the Ultimate Weapon struck.
Disk is a Zygarde core transformed when it was struck by the Ultimate Weapon.
Tera energy/crystals are the remnants of the Ultimate Weapon's/Disk's energy crystallised (like mega stones).
The Time Machine is a manmade Key Stone that transformed nearby Pokemon with high tera energy (like a permanent mega evolution).
Heath's records are smaller localised incidents of the transformation.

The only problem this theory is how the future Paradox Pokemon existed in the past expedition. Maybe the Time Machine worked enough as a time machine to also influenced the transformation of the past Pokemon.

Yep, that's exactly how I concluded this, I was thinking of its name and then I remembered Tarasque. Mind you that the disc legendary's abilities have probably not much to do with the Tarasque, but I think its looks and name are inspired by it.

that's also what megas do in Masters EX. just stat buffs.

that's what I'd bet they'll do. Ability change, and then stat boost.

So like MGengar might get +2 Spa, +1 Spd, +1 Spe.

There are 2 explanations
1. During testing the time machine dumped pokemon in the wrong time period and that's what heath saw. The professor was working on it for years trying to get it right, it could just be malfunctions during testing that sent them to his time
Or
2. In the dlc we will use the time machine again and at that time pokemon will be sent back to heaths time

Either way the paradox is the time machine spawned the pokemon that heath wrote about which inspired the time machine that spawned the pokemon that heath wrote about which inspired the time machine...

Ah yes. The absolute bullshit mechanic that plays favourite with but a select few pokemon. And if you don't go out of your way to have a mega evolution capable pokemon part of your team you can't even benefit from the gimmick at all while others who do can.
Also. The vast majority of them have silly lines and edges as part of their designs no matter if that ever made sense with the original pokemon.

Megas are fucking dumb. Why didn't they just make new pokemon instead?

Isn't Area Zero dated at at least 1million years old, where as the weapon was fired 3000 years ago? Or do you mean that the crater was made, and then long after the weapon struck it?

However, I still have high hopes for the DLC. The DLCs in SwSh were not connected in any way to the main game but that's only because the main story was so shit that there's no hope of salvaging it.
We still have a ton of unexplained mysteries that the DLC could shine upon: the Virizion/Suicune sketch, OP's pic, the mysterious symbols in Iron Valiant/Roaring Moon's cave, the unexplorable land beyond Eri's base, the imagination theory, etc. If the DLC doesn't focus on these, then I don't know why GF would leave us is such a cliffhanger that we just speculated theories for nothing.

Yeah.. especially because Khu didn't out right say that Megas were coming back.. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something like megas but just a stat change instead of appearance change. I also don't think it's going to be Kalos related DLC. The areas grayed out don't match up to be Kalos.
