>>52740085Nintendo isn’t actually that involved in Pokémon development, they could be making promises for Gamefreak that they have no real ways of enforcing. Short of sending in their own programmers to help (unlikely) there is nothing they can do to guarantee that they stay true to their word.
I do believe Nintendo is putting the screws on Gamefreak because this launch has been a complete embarrassment for them, but it could very well be that the performance issues are more insidious than straightforward low-hanging-fruit fixes that simply require some extra time to iron out.
