I just wish it was SE on Steel types, that's all it really needs. I hope tink gets some kind of item or move or some other sort of buff in the DLC, it's a shame a Pokemon so popular is so underwhelming.

Game freak has no reason to buff it, they only care about CHARIZARD and the FOTM shillmons. But regardless Tink isn't even that bad, its doing a fuckton better then many other popular Pokémon who have never been allowed to be remotely decent.

Hitting through Protect isn't enough, because she still won't be doing what she is portrayed to do which is kill Steel types.

She just needs Gigaton Hammer to be SE against Steel types and some strong moves that is also SE against Steel types, then she'll fit her whole theme.

I wonder who is the one that thought giving a Physical Mon, so much SPA instead of just putting it into Attack or if they didn't want to do that put it into Defense and make her a Tank? It's like they assume she'll be a mix attacker when she barely has any good Special Attacks while she mostly learns Physical moves and her Signature is Physical as well.

I always saw her line more of a pest than a predator. The pokedex is usually cut and dry when it comes to pokemon that prey upon others, like Talonflame and Wingull, Tinkatuff and Tinkaton just cause problems for steel types. They don't eat them, just harvest steel from their bodies.

Hear me out, Talonflame. Based on its entry in Ultra Moon, it is a bird of prey that feasts almost exclusively on bird pokemon, and naturally lives in the same region as Corviknight unlike in Galar where they're separated by a body of water. Talonflame can hold prey up to 220 pounds in its talons and Corvi is 165 pounds. On top of that, Talonflame has a nasty type advantage against it.

How I see it is Tinkaton is a Monster Hunter but for steel types and in the same way those hunters attack monsters with traps and skill on top of oversized weapons, Tinkaton does the same but with various status moves

Definitely, the Pokédex is pretty damning that way. I guess we'll never know why the game contrasts so heavily with the pokedex when that hasn't been the case with every other predator/prey relationship in the world of Pokémon.

I'm watching some UU Singles(Round 3) to see how it is used, here's some movesets I've seen:
>Moveset 1
Ability: Mold Breaker
-Stealth Rock
-Encore
-Knock Off
-Gigaton Hammer
This was by far the most recurring(and successful) one I saw, I think it was used by over 60% of the players.
A few replaced Encore with Thunder Wave or Swords Dance.
A more offensive set that showed up was
>Moveset 1
Ability: Mold Breaker
-Swords Dance
-Play Rough
-Knock Off
-Gigaton Hammer
There was a single player using one with Ice Hammer instead of knock Off.
Based on this, Singles Tinkaton mostly uses the great typing it has to come in and put up rocks, knock off good items from opponents, and disrupts with Encore.

nu-gen privilege. Game Freak finally learned how their own game works, and rather than use that knowledge to go back and fix the shitmons they fucked over in earlier gens, they'd rather make all the new Pokemon completely broken and make the old mons completely worthless.

I think it just needs to be SE against Steel, kind of like Freeze Dry. Lore wise, gives it coverage options, and a buff. Not sure how prominent other steels are in the meta but it's something rather than just tossing on something random
