The opponent could be holding any item but since most items are useless (like most Tera types) that doesn't matter. I have never and will never be taken by surprise by the item Ting Lu is holding.
90% of the items you listed are shit on Kingambit. Absolutely no point in scarfed Kingambit when it's so slow it still gets outspend by most things and it has sucker punch anyway. Focus sash will be removed by hazards anyway. The berries will let him survive 1 SE hit, but only one, and only if it's the correct type. If he Tera flyings he can take reduced damage from fighting and 0 from ground forever which is far more powerful than making a weakness neutral for example. AV gambit is the only one you listed here that might swing a game unexpectedly but it's not that big of a difference compared to Tera which can outright make SE moves miss.
Your last response makes absolutely no sense. You Tera to get a better defensive type.
